Academic Senate
The Academic Senate has functions of proposal, supervision and verification in the field of teaching, research and student services as required by Art. 26 of the University Statute.
Among the tasks of the senate is the approval of the General Regulations and the regulations concerning teaching and research in the Code of Ethics.
The Senate expresses its opinion on the projected budgets, approves or proposes the activation or suppression of courses, offices, departments, faculties and schools.
Competencies
-
formulate proposals and mandatory opinions regarding teaching, research and student services, as well as activation, modification or suppression of courses, venues, departments, faculties and schools;

approve, subject to the opinion of the Board of Directors, the General Regulations, the Academic Regulations of the university, the Regulations regarding teaching and research;
-
approve the Code of Ethics and decide, as proposed by the Rector, on its violations, if they do not fall under the competence of the Disciplinary Board;
-
carry out functions of scientific direction, coordination and connection with the departments, the faculties and the schools;
-
perform the functions established by the Statute for the designation of the members of the Board of Directors;
-
propose, to the electoral body, a motion of no confidence in the rector, not before two years have passed since the beginning of his/her mandate, with a majority of at least two-thirds of its members;

express a mandatory opinion on the annual and three-year budget, and on the financial statements and attached documents;

carry out any other function assigned to it by the regulations in force and by the Statute, and express opinions and proposals on the matters established by the University Regulations, and at the request of the rector and of the Board of Directors.
