Internships are carried out under the supervision of a professional tutor, who must have been registered with the ODCEC for at least 5 years and have completed continuing professional development (CPD) courses over the last three years, as required. Compliance with CPD requirements must be certified by the ODCEC.
The professional tutor may be self-employed or an employee of a larger company, for instance a legal or consulting firm.
Students can find their professional tutor through:
- personal contacts
- the notice board and members list on the ODCEC website
- the job offers notice board of the University, which is also available through UNIMIA
In order for the internship to be properly set up and subsequently recognised, professional tutors must follow the internship set-up procedure established by the University; then, students must register with the Interns list of the ODCEC. The instructions are described below.
Students are required to check the deadlines for their study programme, and identify the legal or accounting firm where they would like to carry out their internship well in advance.
It is the student’s responsibility to check whether he/she fulfils the requirements to carry out the internship, as set out in the agreement with the ODCEC.
Further information on the start of the internships and how to have internship credits recognised will be provided during the a. y. 2024/2025.
Internship activation with the University
Students and professionals who fulfil the requirements set out in the agreement must follow the online procedure for internship activation as described on the University website. This procedure includes signing an internship agreement with the University and submitting an individual training project.
Registration with the ODCEC’s interns list
Subsequently, students have to:
