Cosmetology in prototypic skin conditions

The course aims at providing the students with an overview on prototypic skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis and photoaging. Anatomy and physiology of healthy skin will be compared to sensitive, seborrheic, atrophic and irritated/inflamed skin. Furthermore, great attention would be paid towards formulation development, manufacturing aspects and clinical applications of the resulting products.
During the laboratory experiences at cosmetic companies, students will be able to attend the preparation of different types of cosmetic products for the above-mentioned skin conditions and in vivo testing methods.

At the end of the course, students will have acquired the basis for the formulation development of the main categories of cosmetic products for different skin conditions, the manufacturing processes they are involved and the clinical application. This course will provide the students with the knowledge and skills to work in cosmetic industries and contribute to the conception and development of novel cosmetics.
