GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES: at the end of the clerkship, students should have learned: - how to perform a clinical examination of the abdomen (inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation) - how to research rebound tenderness (Blumberg's sign) - how to research Murphy's sign - the semeiology of ascites - how to research signs of cirrhosis Furthermore, they should have observed: - how to perform upper and lower gastro-intestinal endoscopy - how to perform an abdominal ultrasound
ENDOCRINOLOGICAL DISEASES: at the end of the clerkship, students should have learned: - how to perform a clinical examination of the neck: inspection, thyroid palpation - how to perform the examination of arterial pulses - how to measure blood pressure - how to determine blood glucose (glucometer, Homa index, ) - how to perform a physical examination of obese patients (waist circumference, determination of subcutaneous fat, ) - how to examine patients with short stature (determination of target height, growth charts, ) - how to detect hypocalcemia (Chovostek and Trousseau signs) - how to interpret key radiological examinations (thyroid US & scintiscan, pituitary MRI, ) - how to investigate sexual development (eg Tanner stage, measurement of hirsutism, hypomasculinization) DERMATOLOGICAL DISEASE: At the end of the practical activities, students should be able to: - perform a dermatological examination - perform a dermoscopy - perform a histological session - recognize the main features of immunodermatological, pediatric dermatological and sexually transmitted diseases

Prerequisiti
To take the Fundamentals of Clinical Medicine 3 exam, students must have already passed all the exams of the first year (Fundamentals of Basic Sciences, Cells, Molecules and Genes , Histology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Fundamentals of biomedical imaging) and all the exams of second years (Functions 1 and 2, Microbiology, Genetics and Mechanisms of diseases).
Modalità di verifica dell’apprendimento e criteri di valutazione
Students will be assessed through an oral examination on all 4 modules of the course. Examinations on two consecutive days are seldom possible depending upon the availability of teachers or rooms.
The final mark is the average of the marks obtained in the 4 disciplines: endocrinology, gastroenterology, exercise and sport medicine and dermatology weighted for the number of credits in each discipline.
The examination is deemed passed if the mark for each of the 4 disciplines is 18/30 or higher. In the event of a full grade (30/30) honors (lode) may be granted with the consent of all the professors.
Attendance is required to be allowed to take the exam. Unexcused absence is tolerated up to 34% of the course activities. University policy regarding excused illness is followed. Registration to the exam through SIFA is mandatory.

Gastroenterology: clinical approach to the patient with dysphagia and gastric symptoms, patients with Gastrointestinal bleeding, stomach diseases, pancreas and liver disease (clinical consequences of Liver diseases), metabolic and toxic liver diseases, biliary tract diseases, Small and Large Intestine diseases, Appendix and the anal canal diseases.
Clinical approach to the patients with chronic diarrhea.

Dermatology: Clinical approach to skin inspection, examination and care, skin Infectious diseases, skin allergic, inflammatory and reactive diseases, tumors of the skin, viral exanthemas, drug induced reactions.
