Obiettivi formativi
The aim of the course is to give the students an overview of the biotechnological approach to the diagnosis of selected clinically important disorders in small domestic animals. Emphasis will be given to the combined use of clinical, morphological and biomolecular markers for the early detection of diseases. Knowledge bridge between animal and human medicine will be underlined.
Risultati apprendimento attesi
The student willl be able to deal with the medical terminology and the physio-pathological mechanisms of the most common syndromes in both small animals (dogs and cats) and humans. Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in assessing relevant haematological markers of diseases in dogs and cats will be demonstrated. Moreover the student will acquire the knowledge of the morphological basis necessary for understanding the anatomical variability in health and disease. The integrative approach of the anatomical learning with diagnostic and biochemical teaching will provide students with the background and skills needed to get insight in how theoretical knowledge is transformed into clinical information.
