Mobility

Objectives

The objectives of the Mobility working group include support for the development of the University plan to incentivize sustainable means of transport between the various University campuses. It conducts studies and proposes solutions and measures to reduce the use of private vehicles in favour of public/collective transportation and car sharing/pooling with zero-emissions vehicles.

University initiatives

The activity of the working group begins with an analysis of various experiences and best practices. The University enters into special agreements with public transportation companies and private businesses operating in the local area:

  • Rete ATM-STIBM, TRENORD, and Io viaggio ovunque in Lombardia. For many years now, the University has offered its employees (professors, researchers, technical personnel, administrative staff) financial support toward the cost of a transport pass for the integrated ATM-STIBM system, the Trenord rail network, the regional transportation network “Io viaggio ovunque in Lombardia”, public bus lines, and commuter parking lots
  • Trenitalia. The University establishes agreements with Trenitalia for discounts on tickets for work travel (internal staff) and private travel (internal staff and students)
  • Sharing services. The University maintains up-to-date agreements with organizations offering bike sharing, electric scooter sharing, car sharing (fuel/electric), e-scooters, bus transport, and parking facilities. It also has agreements for discounts on the purchase of bicycles, electric bicycles, and cargo bikes.

Sustainable University Mobility

For years now, the University has maintained a Home-Work Mobility Plan – drawn up pursuant to Art. 4, Paragraph 1 of Decree no. 179/2001 of the Ministry of Ecological Transition in concert with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility. RUS Mobility

The University participates in the activities of the Mobility working group of the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development through the Mobility Manager Riccardo Guidetti, who represents the University.
