The Master's degree programme in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences aims to provide the graduate with an education which allows them to:

- assess and critically evaluate the evolving needs of patients entrusted to their professional care, including gender-based needs, if and when needed;
- use research methods and tools in clinical practice and treatment, organisation, and training;
- apply and assess the impact of different theoretical models on treatment operations;
- critically analyse the ethical aspects of clinical care, as well as multi-professional and multi-cultural issues;
- design, generate, and assess education and training efforts;
- develop teaching skills in terms of tutoring operations, and internship coordination for first-level, complementary, and continuing education;
- design and intervene in operations regarding complex treatment and organisational issues;
- plan, manage, and assess treatment services with a view toward improving quality (planning, organisation, management, control);
- supervise treatment falling within the scope of one's professional duties, and provide professional consultancy.
Role in the workforce:
Graduates of the Master's degree programme in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences have high-level competencies in procedures regarding treatment, management, training, and research in any of the fields relating to the different healthcare professions included in this academic class.

Employment opportunities for those earning a Master's Degree programme in Nursing and Midwifery Science include:
- executive roles in healthcare management;
- coordinating Departments or clinics;
- university teaching, taking part in all competitive-selection procedures as required;
- continuing education;
- research through a public or private institution.

Employment statistics (Almalaurea)
During the Degree course, students can participate to study within the Erasmus + Programme. Students can apply for the recognition of the periods of study abroad as Electives.

Enrolment
Admission into the programme is capped, at a national level, pursuant to Law no. 264 of 2 August 1999.
The number of students who may be admitted is set each year pursuant to a decree of the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), based on findings provided by the university in terms of available instructional, classroom, and clinical resources (human and otherwise), as well as the demand for the type of professionals contemplated for this Class as determined by the Region of Lombardy, and the Ministry of Health.
The admission test for the Programme consists of a written, multiple-choice examination.
The test is held on a date set by MUR for all Italian campuses.
Admission into the programme requires a degree in Class L/SNT1, or in the corresponding class under Ministerial Decree no. 509/99, or a university degree authorising a person to practice in the profession, or other degree deemed equivalent (under Law no. 42/1999); those holding a foreign degree deemed equivalent are likewise eligible for admission.

The tuition fees for students enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's and single-cycle degree programmes are divided into two instalments with different calculation methods and payment schedules:

  • The amount of the first instalment is the same for all students
  • The amount of the second instalment varies according to the ISEE University value, the degree programme and the student status (on track / off track for one year or off track for more than a year) 
  • An additional fee is due for online programmes
