Workshop: Sports Journalism: Traditional and Digital Media
A.Y. 2024/2025
Learning objectives
The workshop will present a review of the forms of sports communication in newspapers and other media, with a historical perspective, aimed at bringing out the evolution of the language of sport and the influences it has been subjected to, but also - and above all - the capacity it has had to influence the language of communication outside the field of sport. Equally at the centre of interest will be the illustration of the winning formulas of sports communication and their ability to shape the vocabulary and rhetoric of communication tout court.
Expected learning outcomes
The participants will be practicing - also with group work - the analysis of TV broadcasts, newspapers, news sites, and the paths of some important figures in sports journalism. The aim is to bring out the constants, innovations and stratagems used to organise and display sports news and commentary, and to become familiar with the main rudiments of these techniques.
