Learning objectives
This course aims to provide students with communication skills in Russian at A2 level under the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Students will expand their knowledge of Russian morphosyntax and vocabulary (as described in the detailed programme) and acquire advanced interaction tools, thus improving their oral and written linguistic skills.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to: understand both general and detailed information in Russian; use a standard language to communicate in everyday situations (tourism, office, study, shopping, means of transport, food and catering); read and write simple texts by correctly using descriptive language; translate texts, both orally and in writing, from Russian into Italian and vice versa.

Unit 1
Noun. Consolidation of inflectional morphology; use of cases and related prepositions: the plural genitive of nouns, the plural accusative of animate nouns, and a deepening of the uses of the dative, prepositional, and instrumental plural.
Adjective. Formation and morphology. Superlative degree. Comparative degree.
Verbs of position (класть/положить - лежать, ставить/поставить - стоять, садиться/сесть - сидеть).
Lexicon. Consolidation of vocabulary related to everyday life: the semantic field of study; use of the verbs надевать, одевать, одеться, носить, ходить; the semantic fields of home, health, leisure. Special attention is given to the expression of position and orientation of things and people in space (position verbs and their complements).

Unit 2
Verbs of motion without prefix intransitive (идти - ходить; ехать - ездить; лететь - летать; плыть - плавать) and transitive (нести - носить, вести - водить, везти - возить).
Verbs of motion with prefix. Modification of roots, aspect pairs.
Meaning and use of prefixes: при-; у-: в-: вы-; пере-: за-; про-; под-; от-; до-; Metaphorical uses of verbs of motion.

Unit 3
The aspect of the verb. The aspectual pair.
Formation of aspect pairs.
Meanings of aspects.
Use of aspects in the past and future tense.
Use of aspects in the infinitive. Particular uses of the imperfective.
Conditional.
Notes on the use of aspects to the imperative.
Prerequisites for admission
Proficiency level A1.
Teaching methods
Contrastive approach is adopted for lexico-grammatical topics, on the basis of which written and oral mediation skills are enhanced.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The examination consists of a written test and an oral test.
The written test is compulsory to the oral test.
The written test will consist of lexico-grammatical exercises, translation of sentences from Italian into Russian and from Russian into Italian, comprehension and production of a short text.
