Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the student with a theoretical and methodological basis useful for understanding the multidimensional nature of the concept of organizational well-being in healthcare contexts and to analyze the main individual and organizational factors that contribute to it. The proposed theoretical framework refers to the characteristics of "healthy organizations" capable of promoting processes of maintaining and improving the physical, psychological and social well-being of the entire working community and assuming the existence of a circular relationship between well-being and performance / productivity / quality of the service provided.
Expected learning outcomes
· Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will acquire basic knowledge on the theories of organizational well-being and the factors that contribute to it.
· Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student will be able to apply the theoretical and conceptual knowledge acquired to choose the most suitable tools for the assessment of the context dependent well-being and identify possible interventions for organizational improvement.
· Independent judgment: at the end of the course the student will be able to identify the main psychosocial intervention actions in organizations within a scientific conceptual framework.
· Communication skills: at the end of the course the student will acquired and be able to use appropriately the disciplinary language and the ability to present to different targets.
· Learning skills: at the end of the course the student will be able to autonomously investigate issues related to the theme of the course.

Course syllabus
Given the breadth of the topic of organizational well-being and taking into account the specific interests of students, the course provides a modular structure.
The first part of the lectures (about 18-20 hours) will be dedicated to defining the fundamental conceptual and methodological bases of models, theories and methods of psychological, social and organizational well-being.
· Historical evolution of the definition of well-being
· Well-being as a subjective state, in the social context, linked to work.
· Organizational well-being:
· in the perspective of the climate construct
· in the life / work balance
· in the relationship with stress and burnout
· Methods and tools for analyzing well-being and improvement practices
The contents of the second part of the course will be defined in consultation with the attending students, based on the interests they developed, selecting 3-4 areas of study and analysis of wellbeing in healthcare (e.g. aging, conflict management and user aggression, etc.)

Teaching methods
The teaching methodologies require the active involvement of the student both to produce and share the theoretical knowledge (flipped classroom) and in transforming knowledge into competence applied to work contexts (simulations, Problem Based Learning). In addition, some stimuli will be provided to improve the reflexivity on personal experiences of well-being within the groups.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Attending Students
The acquisition of the expected learning outcomes will be defined in consultation with the students during the first lessons.

Non Attending students 4 written exam with open-ended questions (70%) + oral integration (30%).
Written exam will be assessed according to the correctness of the contents, to the clarity of the explanation as well as to the capacity of critical analysis.
