Words for talking about adolescence: sociocultural representations and imaginaries.
Discursive plots and conceptual maps: the understanding and interpretive patterns of human knowledge about adolescence and effects in everyday practices.
The specific contribution of the pedagogical perspective on adolescence to substantiating educational and health promotion work with adolescents in a professional sense.
Tools for pedagogical analysis of educational intervention and health promotion contexts addressed to adolescents
Designing experiences, concrete instruments, and pedagogical intervention strategies with adolescents.
Teaching methods
Classes will be held in presence. Course contents will be offered by combining lectures with active teaching methodologies, that promotes and encourages students' active participation, ad which give priority to group-based and interactive activities inherent to the topics examined..

Course syllabus
The course aims to investigate the educational dimension concerning the profession of health assistant, in particular the activity of health promotion. The epistemological reference framework will therefore be explored alongside methodologies and intervention tools.
The learning objective is to develop knowledge related to:
- education and educational experiences: some attempts at classification;
- pedagogy and social pedagogy;
- health and wellness;
- promotion and prevention (educational);
- the subject and the subjects of the intervention (the individual and the community);
- the study of the territory: context and recipient of the educational action;
- the project and the intervention: theory and practice.

At the end of the course, the students will have to know and recognize the educational dimension concerning the profession of the health assistant, in particular the activity of health promotion.
They will therefore have to be able to design and implement educational experiences that develop knowledge, skills and abilities in terms of health and well-being, through promotion and educational prevention programs aimed to different subjects (children, adults, seniors; individuals and groups). For this objective, they will need to know methodologies and tools for the analysis of a territory and for the planning and implementation of an intervention.

Course syllabus
The course aims to deepen the themes of educational promotion and prevention, analyzing the theoretical references and examining some methods of intervention, towards the individual and the community/territory.
The origins and evolution of preventative actions will therefore be investigated, in particular with regard to substance abuse (as a field of application of intervention strategies). Some projects and concrete experiences will also be analyzed.
Scrutinized topics:
- educational promotion and prevention: the reference framework;
- the evolution of intervention strategies: the case of substance abuse;
- the concept of risk in health education;
- educational and preventative relationship;
- theories and models.

At the end of the course, the students will have to know the theories and models of reference on which educational promotion and prevention interventions towards the individual and the community/territory are based (concerning substance abuse in particular).
They must also be able to plan, implement and evaluate an educational action in this area.
