Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and analysis tools to follow the design path of rural buildings for their integration in the agroforestry context.
In addition, the course aims to provide knowledge to understand the consequences of the design choices on the management of the farm, considering both the functional needs derived from the production organization of the farm, and the environmental impact of agricultural activities.
The course aims to provide the knowledge and methodologies for the correct sizing of the functional spaces of the livestock buildings, with hints to the other production buildings, considering the production and territorial system in which the building is inserted.
Expected learning outcomes
Acquisition of knowledge relating to the design criteria of rural buildings in relation to environmental impact and animal welfare. Ability to apply knowledge to practical cases by preparing a project of a rural building (definition of the dimensions and division of spaces, thermal balance, evaluation of the heating, ventilation, cooling system). Use of the acquired knowledge for a critical evaluation of the project and for the insertion of the building in the territorial context in which it is located.
