Learning objectives
The course aims to show to the students how to analyze the public intervention options in the economic system, by studying the main fiscal instruments and public expenditure that characterize the Italian economy. Public operator's role in market economies, the functioning of national governments and their decision-making strategies will be discussed, with particular attention to the analysis - with a European perpective - of economic policies and by proposing some applied cases to support the theoretical basic concepts of the functioning of public spending and taxation systems.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will develop critical skills to analyze the functioning of national and local governments- He/she will be able to discuss and evaluate the various public policies, by using the tools provided, and to critically analyze the debate on public operator's role in market economies.

Economia Politica is a prerequisite for this course

Assessment methods and Criteria
· Exams will be in written form only, following official exams calendar.
· In the written exam the aim will be:
· to verify the knowledge of the main concepts taught and the ability to understand and reason on issues related to public econocmis
· verify the ability to assess different public policies with authonomy
