At the end of the course the student will be able to apply both the conceptual and the operational knowledge acquired, using independent self-assessment skills and the proper skills while operating in the different working contexts.
Lesson period: First trimester
Assessment methods: Esame

Lesson period
First trimester
Lectures will be online using Zoom platform. Each week there will be 3 hours of synchronous teaching (students will participate in real time via voice, chat etc.) and 1 hour of asynchronous teaching (materials / lessons). The synchronous lessons will however be recorded and made available on ARIEL for students who will not be able to participate.
Course syllabus
Students attending at least 75% of the synchronous hours.
The topics will be: the group and its structure, norms and organizational culture, leadership, effectiveness and productivity in groups, decision-making processes in groups, social identity and categorization, management of interpersonal and intergroup conflicts . Finally, the theme of the meeting will be addressed as a working tool.
For each of these topics, interactive activities will be proposed during classes, with the aim of developing the ability to recognize and apply theoretical concepts to real situations.
Students attending less than 75% of the hours.
The topics are the same indicated above and are all related to parts of the text and material provided by the teacher on the ARIEL website of the course.

Prerequisites for admission
No prior knowledge is required.
Teaching methods
Synchronous lectures are accompanied by activities that promote active learning, such as discussions and exercises (simulations, role playing, etc.). For this purpose some materials will be used (cases, videos, etc.), which will be purposely prepared and / or created collectively.
These learning methods make it particularly important to attend classes frequently.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Students attending at least 75% of the synchronous hours: given the interactive nature of the course, the examination procedures will be defined with the group itself, in an exclusive session at the end of the course.
Students attending less than 75% of the hours: written test consisting of 4 open questions to be answered in 75 minutes:
· 3 open questions aim at verifying the knowledge and understanding of the main conceptual models that explain the psychosocial processes in groups.
· 1 open question intends to verify the ability to consciously and critically use the theoretical bases in order to analyze concrete group situations.
Up to a maximum of 7 points is awarded for each of the first 3 questions and up to a maximum of 9 ponts for the fourth question: criteria to assign scores include a) the correctness and completeness of the answer, b) the use of the specialist language of the discipline and c) the use of the ability to apply the learned knowledge critically.
The ability to use the specific disciplinary language appropriately and rigorously will also be evaluated.
The overall test results will be published on the ARIEL website of the course.
