Prevention and lifestyle

The University of Milan conducts communication campaigns to promote prevention and healthy lifestyles among the whole academic community.

The campaigns are run jointly with other public entities and associations in the framework of research projects. By reaching and engaging students, they aim to shape the University into an environment that is conducive not only to learning and research, but also to health advocacy and promotion.

Get your HPV vaccine at the University of Milan

To prevent serious diseases caused by human papilloma virus (HPV), such as oral, cervical, anal and penile cancer, the University is launching a free HPV vaccination campaign for people up to 26 years of age. The campaign is organised in partnership with the Directorate General for Welfare of the Lombardy Region.

HPV comes in over 200 serotypes: some are transmitted through skin contact and cause common warts like the ones people get in swimming pools, while others are transmitted through sexual intercourse and can cause different types of cancer. HPV vaccination is essential to prevent the spreading of these diseases in the male and female population.

The vaccination campaign will run through November and December 2024 on the via Festa del Perdono campus, and at four different hospitals (Sacco Hospital, San Paolo Hospital, San Carlo Hospital, IRCCS Policlinico San Donato). The vaccination point on campus is the result of a collaboration with Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico

To book your free vaccination appointment, you just need a University of Milan email address (domain @studenti.unimi.it or @unimi.it or @guest.unimi.it). You can also book an appointment via the lezioniUnimi app.
