Advanced Courses

Advanced courses provide professional, scientific and cultural updating through flexible and short-term learning pathways, structured into lectures and, in certain cases, more practical activities.

How they work and when they are offered

Advanced courses are offered from October to July. For each course, a call for applications is published in the form of a Rector's decree, with detailed instructions on how to apply for admission.

Fee

The enrolment fee may vary from course to course and is specified in the call for applications. This document also includes information on the scholarships available (if any), the criteria for their allocation, and the documents required to submit a scholarship application.

What is the difference between an advanced course and a vocational master?

Both are postgraduate training programmes aimed at developing high-quality professional skills. They aim to deepen the knowledge acquired through previous studies or work experience and, therefore, are addressed both to students who intend to continue their studies, and to those who are already employed and interested in upgrading their skills.

Advanced courses have a limited duration. Upon their completion, students receive a certificate of attendance.
Vocational masters, which are structurally more complex and of a longer duration, are worth at least 60 university credits, in accordance with Ministerial Decree 509/99. Vocational masters' students are awarded a university qualification known as master universitario.

Admission requirements

To enrol in an advanced course, you must meet the requirements indicated in the call for applications and, in the case of selection-based courses, pass an admission test. Enrolment is also permitted to those who are currently enrolled in another undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate programme.
