How to register for CELI and CELI i exams
Registration is possible through the online procedure explained in the relevant notice, which is published on this website two months prior to each exam session.
Absent candidates
Any candidates who cannot sit the exam because of illness must submit a medical certificate to justify their absence and can only sit the exam in the very following session at the same centre, without paying the fee. They must in any case submit a regular application within the established deadline.
Any reasons for absence other than sickness, as duly justified, will be evaluated by the University for Foreigners of Perugia (CVCL) on a case-by-case basis.
Results
The exam results, assessed by the University for Foreigners Perugia, are published about 3 months after sitting the exam. The original certificate is available in digital format about 5 months after sitting the exam.
To pass CELI exams, candidates must achieve the minimum score both in the written and in the oral part, as shown in the relevant descriptions on the CVCL website.
Candidates who did not pass the written part (consisting of the following sections: Reading Comprehension, Written Production, Linguistic Competence - starting from CELI 3 - and Listening Comprehension), but passed the oral part, or vice versa, can capitalize on their partial result and resit the failed exam part within a year, paying the 70% of the fee. In order to register for a single part of the exam, please follow the instructions in the relevant notice.
Candidates of the CELI 1 i (immigrants) A2 certificate who enroll in the exam for the achievement of the EU residence permit for long-term residents are eligible to specific procedures for carrying out the exam in case of proven illiteracy.
To receive information regarding this matter, candidates are invited to visit the SLAM Centre in person immediately after completing the registration via the online procedure provided in the call. It is mandatory to book an appointment by writing to this email address [email protected] .
Please note that the specific procedures in case of illiteracy can only be illustrated to candidates who request them in person by presenting themselves on site at the SLAM Centre; therefore, any request received by telephone or email will not be processed.
