Erasmus+ Studio incoming
Students from universities that have an Erasmus+ Agreement with the University of Milan (Unimi) may spend one or two semesters at Unimi as part of their studies. To come for your Erasmus exchange you must be nominated by your Home University.
This page offers useful information to incoming Erasmus students: find out more about administrative formalities, the application procedure and how to complete your enrolment, to make the most out of your exchange!
- In order to study abroad within the framework of ERASMUS+ programme at the University of Milan, you must be officially nominated by your home university. Make sure that your University has informed UNIMI's Erasmus Office of your arrival. Without a valid nomination you will be not be accepted as an Erasmus student and you will not be entitled to apply for any of the services;
- Complete your online application and submit it to the Erasmus Team by:
- Semester 1 (Fall semester): 30 June
- Semester 2 (Spring semester): 30 November
At the end of the procedure, you will receive a message concerning your enrolment. If you enrol for the first time, you will have to create an account by clicking on 'Create an account'. Once the account is created, you can check your details and make changes if necessary, by inserting your username and password.
After the Erasmus Team verifies your details, you will receive a second message confirming your registration. You will also receive information on how to complete your enrolment and accommodation's booking procedures; - Contact the responsible person at your faculty and discuss which courses you may take at the University of Milan. Get in touch with your Erasmus coordinator at the University of Milan, if you do not find enough information on the available courses before leaving;
- Ask your University for a certification confirming your Erasmus student status;
- Get your EHIC, the European Health Insurance Card for medical assistance, from the Health National Service in your home country;
- Get an Accident Insurance Certificate that is valid abroad. You can request it to your Home University, a private insurance company or to the University of Milan. Make sure that the insurance policy also covers risks occurring during educational activities. Be ready to hand in your insurance policy to the Erasmus Team when you arrive at the University of Milan;
- Make sure that your passport or i.d. card are valid during your mobility and bring with you 2 passport-size photos.

Complete your enrolment within 2 days of your arrival: collect your Carta La Statale student card and your enrolment certificate at the International Mobility Office, by appointment;

Get information about classes timetable, available on the website's section dedicated to your study area or refer to your course's website;

Check the exam schedule through your personal profile on your UNIMIA portal by logging in with your University's credentials, assigned by the Erasmus incoming Team at your arrival.
If you are a student under 27, you are eligible to get a discounted ATM public transportation card (Milan's Public Transportation Company).
Show your enrolment certificate at one of the ATM Points together with your passport or i.d. card and one passport photo. You can also apply to the ATM card online.

The exam syllabus is a short description of the course and of the academic materials required to study (bibliography, lecture notes etc.).
Courses' syllabi are available starting from September on Unimia, the students' portal.
Students can register for exams by logging in to Unimia, the students' portal, with the University's credentials assigned by the Erasmus Office on their arrival.
Make sure to check your exams registration's deadlines set by your professors.
Exams and tests results are published online and are accessible through UNIMIA, the students' portal, by selecting Academic career.
Collect your Transcript of Records - a list of all the educational activities you attended during your mobility: exams, laboratories, etc. - at the Erasmus Office. The Office will mail it to your address, should it not be ready when you leave.
