The course is built as a tutorial intended to give fundamental skills in manual processing and interpretation of mass spectrometry (MS) data. In fact, although the modern instruments provide software-aided interpretation tools, guided or standardized procedures are not exempt from blunders, and critical revision of data by the operator is always desirable. The tutorial is built to address the theory and practice of the manual interpretation of spectra collected in experiments aimed at structural confirmation or de novo identification of small molecules and impurities. This procedure is a popular task in pharma field both for drug development and quality control.
