The history of the School of Language Mediation and Intercultural Communication
The history of the School of Language Mediation and Intercultural Communication is closely linked to the history of its programmes:
- The bachelor's degree programme in Language and Cultural Mediation, which was established in 2001 thanks to the cooperation between the then Faculties of Literature and Philosophy and of Political Sciences, finding mutual stimulus and integration in the Mediation educational project
- The master's degree programme in Languages, Cultures and International Communication, which was established in 2004 as an ideal continuation of the bachelor's programme and became the master's degree programme in Languages and Culture for Communication and International Cooperation in 2008
The School of Language Mediation and Intercultural Communication was established in 2012, with the reorganization of the departments and faculties of the University of Milan.
The structure reflects the specific identity of its scientific and didactic project and confirms its novelty from a multi- and inter-disciplinary angle. It coordinates and rationalizes the educational and training activities provided by its core or associated departments:
-
Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Mediations (core department)
-
Social and political sciences (associated department)
- International Politics, Law and Economics (associated department)
- Literary Studies, Philology and Linguistics (associated department).
