Learning objectives
This course will provide knowledge about the internal organization of nursery industries and about science-based management techniques. Key agricultural processes related to nursery production of woody plants will be examined, as well as legal aspects of the production process. Environmental issues related to nursery production will also be addressed.
Expected learning outcomes
This course will provide informations about how a nursery is structured, about plant propagation and reproduction, about sound cultural techniques for field- and container-grown stock, and about plant protection in nurseries. The course will provide the skills needed for working in the nursery industry, including a teorethical background of species-specific plant propagation processes, plant management and plant quality evaluation.
