Learning objectives
The course discusses topics of synchronic and/or diachronic Scandinavian linguistics by providing adequate methodological tools for scientific research. On a practical level, students, who start from a minimum B2 level, will acquire communicative competence in the Scandinavian language studied on level C1 according to the CEFR. This includes understanding long and complex texts with their implicit meaning; using the language in different social, professional, and academic contexts in a flexible and effective way; producing clear and well-constructed texts on complex topics. Students will also develop passive competence at B2 level in at least another Scandinavian language.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to identify and discuss problems of synchronic and/or diachronic Scandinavian linguistics with appropriate methodological tools for scientific research. In the chosen Scandinavian language, the student will develop written and oral comprehension skills and written and oral production skills corresponding to the C1 level of the CEFR, with special attention to socially and culturally contextualized use of the language as well as register variation.
