Physiopathology and Medical Techniques Applied to Adapted Physical Activity

Learning objectives
The course provides knowledge on the conduct and organization of preventive physical activity for maintaining well-being in children and adults. The course will provide knowledge on morphofunctional changes during growth and methods for the diagnosis of abnormal posture. Topics include the application and organization of preventive physical exercise and therapy for maintenance or recovery of well-being in children and adults. Students will acquire knowledge of disorders, compare them by age at onset, and correlate them with appropriate physical activity.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will acquire skills in applying physical activity to prevent the onset of common musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and immune disorders. Students will acquire skills to assist persons with acute or chronic episodes of illness in returning to physical activity compatible with their functional status and motor abilities.
