Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the student with the knowledge of molecular biology that are the basis of the diagnostic systems provided by the service pharmacy. The teaching addresses the biomolecular approaches that measure the biomarkers of standard physical conditions or related with diseases, as well as the indicators that are analyzed in the fields of basic research, nutrition and healthcare, in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the procedure and critical analysis of the results.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will have acquired fundamental knowledge of molecular biology to be able to competently perform the diagnostic, screening and counseling services available to the patient in the pharmacy and will have developed critical skills for the analysis and interpretation of the results. The acquisition of scientific themes and specific language will facilitate communication with both the patient and other health professionals and will allow the student to keep their skills updated in the future application of new biomolecular technologies in the field of service pharmacy and laboratory medicine.
