Learning objectives
The teaching aims to provide the student with knowledge of the organization of the National Health Service in the field of worker protection skills, legislation on the protection of the health and safety of workers in the workplace, and legislation on insurance
In particular, specific safety measures in livestock and feed and food enterprises, personal protective equipment for workers, crimes and forensics, biological hazards, occupational diseases, and the accident reporting procedure are analyzed.
Accident statistics in agricultural forensic medicine, and understanding of occupational risk assessment are examined.
Expected learning outcomes
1) Knowledge and understanding: the student should demonstrate adequate knowledge and understanding of the basic elements of legislation on the protection of health and safety in the workplace.
2) Applying knowledge and understanding: the student should be able to identify risks related to the work environment, be able to draft the Risk Assessment Document (DVR), have good oral and written communication skills.
3) Making judgements: the student should have developed critical and judgment skills in the basic aspects of safety and work legislation.
4) Communication: the student should be able to effectively communicate what has been learned and understood, using appropriate terminology.
5) Lifelong learning skills: the student should have developed skills and strategies for his or her own professional development, particularly in the most rapidly evolving areas of occupational safety and health protection.
