Dermocosmetic and Decorative Cosmetic Products

Learning objectives
The course aims at presenting and analyzing challenges associated with formulation, production and stability aspects of skincare and decorative cosmetic products. The teaching also takes into account the continuous evolution of the scientific conception of cosmetics, together with the changing and increasing needs of their users. Special attention will be directed to the application of such products to the skin and to the beneficial effects that may result. The course also intends to provide insights on the ability of cosmetics to maintain the skin in good condition as well as restore it normal state (dermocosmetics), color theory, and psychological motivations behind the use of cosmetics.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will have acquired the knowledge needed to deal with preliminary market analyses, which are carried out before cosmetic products fabrication, and the competences required to ensure technical and regulatory set-up of the product, i.e. from the initial idea to the go-to-market strategy.
