Data Visualization
A.Y. 2025/2026
Learning objectives
The course has two objectives, the first of which is the main one.
The primary and main objective is to introduce the key data visualization techniques, which, when properly used, can enable both visual data analysis, allowing the discovery of relevant information and relationships expressed by the data, and the effective communication of obtained results. For each type of chart, its main functionalities, characteristics, and appropriate uses will be presented.
The second objective of the course is to integrate the concepts introduced in the first module to provide the fundamental knowledge for creating information dashboards, i.e., (potentially interactive) applications that allow real-time monitoring of a system's status through the visualization, possibly interactive, of a set of metrics that measure the system's performance.
