Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the student with the tools and methods for the planning of speech therapy management of patients with primary and secondary oral and written language disorders in developmental age and in adulthood, promoting clinical thinking.
The course also aims to provide students with the methods and tools aimed at developing speech therapy reports relating to clinical cases observed during clinical practice and the drafting of the thesis dissertation.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to construct a rehabilitation setting aimed at therapeutic intervention, implementing the procedures related to each other in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of primary and secondary oral and written language disorders.

The speech therapy management of patients with DSA, SLI, aphasia, language and communication disorders secondary to hearing, cognitive, relational and socio-cultural alterations, also through the discussion of clinical cases and the use of films
· The bibliographic research of the scientific literature also through practical exercises
Prerequisites for admission
With reference to the Didactic Regulations (art.20), To access the third year, it is essential to have achieved at least nine exams of which:
- biological, physiological and morphological sciences
- linguistic, philosophical and socio-pedagogical sciences
- applied speech therapy sciences: preparatory
- Otolaryngological, neurological and rehabilitation sciences, Applied speech and language sciences II
- Neuropsychiatric, pedagogical and psychological sciences
The student must also have passed the 2nd year annual traineeship exam.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning assessment will consist of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination.. In each of the four stations, clinical scenarios of speech therapy relevance will be proposed (Language Disorder, Learning Disorder, Autism, Mental Retardation, Bilingualism, Dysphagia in children and adults, Articulatory Disorder, Dysfluenza, Aphasia, Head Trauma, Dysarthria, Dysphonia) and simulations / role playing will be required: interview and anamnestic data collection, observation, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, treatment, assessment of the treatment efficacy, follow-up, counseling. Each request will be assessed using an expected response grid. The final evaluation of the traineeship exam will be the result of the average of the four stations.
Two reports are required: an individual formative assessment by the profession tutor is provided for the first, while a certification assessment is provided for the second.
The evaluation criteria used will be the application of the knowledge acquired and the ability to understand in the context of gestural skills, autonomy of judgment in the context of clinical reasoning and communicative and relational skills.
The grade will be expressed in thirtieths resulting from the assessments of the clinical case reports and of the traineeship exam conducted through Objective Structured Clinical Examination. The assessments expressed by the traineeship Assistants through specific checklists on the internship booklet and by the professional tutor will be considerate. There are no intermediate tests
