Learning objectives
The course aligns with the other disciplines of the degree programme in providing a European and international dimension, and is intended for students who have never studied Spanish or have a CEFR language level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) below A2, as it introduces them to the fundamentals of the Spanish language.
It aims to provide students with knowledge of the basic vocabulary and syntactic structures to reach Spanish proficiency at A2 level under the CEFR, particularly with regard to written comprehension and production skills.
Knowledge and skills provided by the course aim to help students further their Spanish learning, with a view to acquiring the ability to speak in more foreign languages. This is a requirement for working in international contexts and is in line with the professional profile to be trained during the degree programme.
In the frame of the SIE degree programme, students may also take the course "Advanced Language Skills: Spanish" (level B1),which is worth 3 credits (CFU).The course may be included in the study plan as "further training activities", or advanced language courses offered by the University as elective activities.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students are expected to know the basic vocabulary and grammar structures needed to understand and communicate simple and common information.
They will also have to reach Spanish proficiency at least at A2 level under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which includes having a good command of basic linguistic skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
To acquire these abilities, students are strongly recommended to actively participate in all the learning activities held in the class.
