Learning objectives
The aims of the course are:
- to know the main illnesses related to the workplace, and the health surveillance systems
- to know the principles of organization in health centres
- to know the principles of the remuneration in health care system
- to know the principles of prevention.

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know some principles of public health, business organization and occupational medicine, which are useful for the forthcoming clinical practice in the health system.

Prerequisites for admission
With reference to the Didactic Regulations (art.20), To access the third year, it is essential to have achieved at least nine exams of which:
- biological, physiological and morphological sciences
- linguistic, philosophical and socio-pedagogical sciences
- applied speech therapy sciences: preparatory
- Otolaryngological, neurological and rehabilitation sciences, Applied speech and language sciences II
- Neuropsychiatric, pedagogical and psychological sciences
The student must also have passed the 2nd year annual traineeship exam.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning verification will take place through a written test with open questions or multiple choice questions. The duration of the scheduled test is 1.5 hours.
The evaluation criteria used will be the ability to list and organize the knowledge acquired as well as their application for the resolution of short questions.
The assessment of the course will be expressed by a mark out of thirty and will be the result obtained from the average of the votes acquired in each course module. There are no intermediate tests during the course.
The results of the tests will be communicated to the students through the University exam report service.

DESCRIPTIVE EPIDEMIOLOGY: Spatial and temporal distribution analysis. Epidemiological surveillance

EXPERIMENTAL EPIDEMIOLOGY: Notes on preventive and therapeutic experimental studies
PREVENTION METHODOLOGY: Prevention and health promotion: definition and objectives. Primary, secondary, tertiary prevention
