Learning objectives
The course is aimed at providing students with knowledge about:
- the development and management of hospitals and their evolution over time as concerns health and safety needs, in the light of the national and regional legislation;
- theories and intervention models used by work and organizational psychology within the context of health an helping professions;
- positive psychology applied to work;
- the sociology of professions, elaborated by American and British sociology, critically adopted in continental Europe and Italy;
- the professionalization process of nurses and other health professions;
- the evolution of health professions in care, diagnostic and rehabilitation, including the institution of orders or professional colleges for healthcare professions different from medicine and nursing

- theories and intervention models used by work and organizational psychology within the context of health an helping professions;
- positive psychology applied to work;
- the sociology of professions, elaborated by American and British sociology, critically adopted in continental Europe and Italy;

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the teaching, the student must be able to:
- to know the laws relating to the prevention and protection of health and safety in the workplace and the economic and economic-business constraints and to be able to develop interventions aimed at providing an effective contribution to the organization;
- to know the psychological aspects of both individual work behaviours and in the contexts of the group and organisation, with particular reference to the management of power and leadership;
- know how to manage and solve organizational problems.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning assessment takes place through a written test, organized in specific exam sessions, as per the Regulations. Up to a maximum of six exam sessions may be scheduled for each academic year; two in each session.
The type of test is written and includes multiple-choice quiz questions (1 credit: 8 questions / total number of questions = 48).
All the modules that make up the teaching contribute proportionally to the credits to determine the final evaluation expressed in 30ths as a summation result of the answers correctly given expressed in thirtieths (30 cum laude zero errors, 18/30 for 60% of the correct answers) .
The total time for the exam is 60 minutes (variations are allowed for certified DSAs).
The questions refer to the slides presented in the classroom and available in ARIEL, to the recommended texts and to the bibliography provided.
No intermediate or early exam sessions are planned.
Didactic materials or notes are not admitted for the test.
The results are published on the ARIEL website of the course of study and can be accepted or rejected according to the modalities of the regulation.
The exam is recorded using the University's online procedure.
