Course syllabus
The subject of the course will first of all be the reconstruction of the constitutional principles in the matter of the protection of privacy and also of the freedom of thought, and then an in-depth study of the evolution of the regulations on privacy and the processing of personal data, not only in the Italian legal system but also in the context of the European Union.
In this perspective, the evolution from the right to privacy as a negative freedom to the right to the processing of personal data will be investigated through reference to the relevant legislation and case law.
There will be no lack of comparative references and special attention will be devoted to the European Data Protection Regulation, as well as, of course, to the role and competences of the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in the italian legal system.
