Principle of Economics and Statistics

Learning objectives
The educational objective of the course is to provide students to jargon and basic principles of economics and statistical sciences. In specific, the Economics module of the course aims the partecipants to acquire the knowledge of the laws describing behaviour and interaction among economic agents (families and firms) mainly at micro level (microeconomics) with a short outline at aggregated level (macroeconomics). The Statistics module of the course is aimed to provide students with knowledge in descriptive statistics, and partially of inferential statistics.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the students will be able to understand the contents of economic publications with reference to the problems of production, consumption and dynamics of agricultural and food product markets. Students will be able to correctly represent and read statistical information in tabular and graphical form.
