Learning objectives
The course aims at acquiring the fundamental notions, concepts , and vocabulary of Modern History, and of the specific topics of the lectures.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will have learnt about principles of Modern History (notions, concepts, vocabulary), basic to the study and activities in the field of Cultural Heritage.
Attending students will also have learned useful elements of historical research methodology to professional activity in the field of Cultural Heritage.

Prerequisites for admission
Mastery of the spoken, read and written Italian language.
Teaching methods
Teaching consists of lectures.

1) This syllabus is valid from May 2025 to January-February 2026.
Therefore, for the exam December 2024 and January/February 2025, Students will have to prepare the program for the academic year 2023-24. The academic year program 2023-24 is published online by the University offices and on Ariel/myAriel.
2) The Student must submit to the examination with:
- valid identification document within the borders of the Italian Republic;
- university badge;
- e-mail address assigned by the University and password (the password must be less than 14 characters. If the Student usually uses a password of 14 or more characters, she/he must change the password before
attending the exam. The new password must be less than 14 characters. Before the exam the Student must verify that the new password is active).
3) Before contacting the teacher, the Student must carefully read this syllabus and what is published on Ariel/myAriel page. No information already provided in this program will be provided by e-mail.
4) If the Student contacts the teacher by e-mail, she/he must send the e-mail (including signature and serial number) from the e-mail address of the University of Milan.
5) Communications will be published on Ariel/myAriel. Students are therefore invited to regularly consult Ariel/myAriel and their e-mail (address of the University of Milan).
Assessment methods and Criteria
Written test with multiple choice questions, in Italian, on the computer.
Evaluation criteria: ability to demonstrate and process knowledge.
Evaluation method: mark in 30s.
