Learning objectives
The workshop aims to provide knowledge and skills on the subject of public administration in Italy, specifically in terms of its structure, organization and main evolutionary features.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the workshop, students will have acquired knowledge and mastery of the essential conceptual tools for understanding the structure and organization of public administration in Italy, with particular reference to the following departments: ministries and noneconomic public bodies, local authorities, regions, health system, school system, and judicial system.

Course syllabus
The 20-hour course addresses the following topics:
· the public administration in Italy: preliminary definitory aspects
· the historical evolution of public administration in Italy
· the ministries and non-economic public bodies
· the local authorities and the regions
· the healthcare system
· the school system
· the judicial system
Prerequisites for admission
Basic knowledge acquired during the bachelor, preferably in social, economic, political, or legal sciences.
Teaching methods
Mainly lectures on the concepts and analytical tools of the discipline, with discussions on relevant cases or events from the Italian experience.

Assessment methods and Criteria
At the end of the course, the students will have to prepare a short essay on a topic concerning public administration agreed upon with the professor.
