Learning objectives
The course aims at describing the functioning of financial markets and intermediaries, in line with the objectives of the degree. After a brief introduction related to the functions of financial markets and intermediaries, the first part of the course focuses on financial products, such as money market instruments, capital market instruments, derivatives, unit funds. The second part of the course focuses on financial intermediaries, in particular banks, with an analysis of their business models, regulations, financial statements.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student knows the technical characteristics and economic profiles of money market instruments, capital market instruments, and derivatives. The student knows the specificities of the business models, the financial statements and the regulation of the different financial intermediaries.
