Learning objectives
The seminar introduces participants to the different processes that comprise audiovisual translation, beginning with a history of audiovisual translation's introduction into the film industry before proceeding to analyse the various steps and the professional profiles involved in the process. The seminar will field contributions from experts in the sector.
Expected learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, participants will understand how dubbing is performed. They will also understand why different choices are made in audiovisual translation and how the differences between the source and target cultures of working languages affect how these changes are applied.

Prerequisites for admission
The students must have a three-year degree in humanities or have at least attended a course in Contemporary history (M-STO 04)
Teaching methods
During the lessons, held by the professor and by other experts, the tools to understand the work of adaptation and dubbing for cinema and television, from a historical and professional point of view sill be provided.
In conjunction with the interventions of external experts, the time of the meetings may undergo variations.
