Learning objectives
To know nursing care management methods for the person with biophysiological, physiopathological, psychological and socio-cultural manifestations and signs related to the critical situation, from data collection to evaluation of interventions and outcome. To early recognize emergency clinical situations which require first aid actions in order to provide survival and adequate and effective nursing care.
To acquire knowledge to manage emergency clinical situations and to be able to develop specific nursing plans in situations of high complexity of care, in the emergency room and intensive care unit.
To know the main procedures of intervention in cases of disaster.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will identify nursing care needs and will describe the significant interventions for the critically ill patient with particular regard to assisting the patient with severe trauma
The student will describe emergency clinical situations which require first aid actions.
The student will identify the general principles of nursing triage in trauma.
The student will describe the main modalities of intervention in case of disaster with identification of priorities.
The student will describe the etiopathogenetic and pathophysiological mechanisms of the relevant pathologies in critical care, the signs and symptoms and the diagnostic and therapeutic indications
and the patient's nursing needs in the emergency room with urgent or emergency pathology.
The student will calculate the dosage and dilution of drugs in critical care settings.
Single course

This course can be attended as a single course.

Course syllabus and organization

Fondazione Sacra Famiglia

Prerequisites for admission
The student must have passed the exams of: Basic Sciences, Clinical nursing sciences 2, Medicine and pharmacology and internship 2.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The written test involves closed-ended and/or open-ended questions, and if the subject requires it, you will also be assessed on the basis of calculation tests relating to teaching.
The assessment of the written barrier test does NOT give rise to a mark, but only to admission to the oral test.
The oral exam includes questions the assessment of which relates to the following parameters: content, logic, language properties.
The evaluation of the oral test is in thirtieth grade.
