Analysis of Needs and Evaluation in Healthcare Services

Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with theoretical and methodological tools useful for the development of knowledge in the field of needs analysis and performance evaluation of public health services, with both local and international perspective. Indicators will be analyzed to assess the quality of health services offered to the population focusing on its all dimensions, including the safety of care. The main clinical-assistance and preventive processes will be evaluated, with reference to the patients' pathways both intra and extra-hospital and to their government. The principles of global health will be discussed; global health focuses on the health of the most vulnerable populations and people, which are set in a multi-disciplinary and sustainable field, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know how to interpret and analyze the data that contribute to define the current and emerging health needs of the population and that are necessary to translate health needs into service supply.
