The course aims to provide a strong knowledge concerning:
- the fundamentals of the mechanisation for agriculture and forestry
- the main machines adequate to operate in mountain areas, included those for stables

The course program covers the description of the main machinery used in agricultural and forestry enterprises and a summary of the main types of renewable energies producible by these enterprises.
The agricultural tractor and its fundamental components (engine, transmission, hydraulic system, electronics)
The main operational machinery for the cereal and forage sector
Tractor-machine operator coupling and its suitability
Forestry machinery
Safety and ergonomics in forestry
Methods of using machinery for forestry, in Italy and in countries with a higher degree of mechanization.
The main sources of renewable energy producible by agricultural enterprises
Exercises: completion of exercises.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will consist of a written assessment lasting 2 hours, including two exercises (18/30) and two open-ended questions (12/30). In the event that the number of registered students for the exam is less than 5, the exam will take place at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, via G. Celoria 2, Milan.
