The students, under the guidance of the lecturer, will have to rework the readings and the central questions tackled in class in the form of a podcast episode.

Course syllabus
The first part of the workshop is structured as a series of guided readings on the relationship between man and nature in the Middle Ages. Among the topics covered: the creation of the world and the role assigned to man in it according to medieval exegesis of the Bible, nature in scientific treatises, and the relationship with food in various social contexts, with particular attention to the monastic context. Basic notions of writing and editing audio content will also be provided, which the students will be asked to put into practice by creating a podcast episode relevant to the topics addressed in class.
Prerequisites for admission
No prior knowledge is required, but it should be noted that the readings are taken from translated Latin texts and some observations will therefore be more accessible to those with a basic knowledge of the language.
Teaching methods
Frontal lectures will alternate with practical exercises in recording and editing audio content. Some classes will be devoted to the presentation of group work carried out by the students, who will receive feedback from both the teacher and their peers.
Teaching Resources
A handout of texts, images, and reading suggestions will be made available on the Ariel platform. Students are also required to download the free software Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/download/) for editing audio files.
Assessment methods and Criteria
Constant participation and fruitful performance of the assigned activities will be evaluated.
