Course syllabus
The general objective of the course is to work on the students' skills in the field of communication in the workplace, in corporate and institutional contexts. In particular, the focus of the laboratory is on the skills and strategies necessary to effectively communicate information related to each student's professional profile, talents, and abilities in the context of human resource selection. Students will work on the analysis and production of texts for job applications and job interviews in English with the aim of consolidating knowledge and experimenting with its application.
Prerequisites for admission
In order to participate in the course, students need a B2 level of English competence. The use of English at level B2/C1 is expected both in the production and reception of written and oral texts.
Teaching methods
We will be using an eclectic approach: lesson plans will be characterized by the use of multimedia materials. The
function of these tools is that of interacting with the students involving them in activities that stimulate them cognitively and that make it possible for their different intelligences, personalities, and motivation to find the most suitable learning way(s). Learning a language is, for a huge part, practicing it, so the students are expected to engage in discussions, to ask and answer questions, to detect errors and reflect about them, to try to communicate in English, challenging the fear of being wrong or making errors.
