Learning objectives
The course aims to provide:
- Knowledge necessary for the planning and management of the forest heritage, with particular reference to protected areas.
- Methodologies for forest planning oriented to productive aspects, landscape enhancement and protection of the territory.
This knowledge will allow the student to work in the forestry sector in a multi-functionality perspective and in the wood supply chain, with particular attention to the sustainable management of natural resources.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to understand the role of plans and programs for the management of forest resources at different levels of scale in Italy, within the broader scenario of strategies and regulations for land governance linked to urban, territorial and environmental plans and environmental impact assessment instruments. The student will be able to integrate the various ecological, regulatory, procedural, technical and silvicultural aspects involved in the management of forest resources into an organic and interpretative framework. To facilitate the achievement of this result, students will learn the theoretical and conceptual framework, will be provided with study material that will also be useful in their future and practical case studies will be presented taken from the professional experience of the professor and other professionals.
