Learning objectives
- Acquisition of knowledge on the functioning of tissues, organs and systems under normal conditions with particular attention to the auditory phenomenon;
- Acquisition of the fundamental knowledge of molecular pathology processes, of the tissues of organs and systems, and of the main micro and macroscopic alterations of diseases;
- The student must know the determining causes and the most important pathogenetic mechanisms in diseases and the concept of aetiology-pathogenesis of human diseases;
- It must also acquire notions of clinical microbiology aimed at clarifying the concept of infectious disease as well as the most important specific diagnostic methods.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will know the elements related to the psychological, social and historical aspects of the health professions in order to be able to adequately place their profession in a complex context of relationships and operating networks.

Course syllabus and organization

Single session

The lessons will be held on the Microsoft Teams platform and can be followed both synchronously on the basis of the first semester timetable and asynchronously because they will be recorded and left available to students on the same platform

Assessment methods and Criteria
The final exam consists of a single written test. Specifically, the student is asked to answer three open questions. The questions have a predominantly theoretical content. The evaluation is expressed in thirtieths (for example 30/30 or 30 and praise / 30) and takes into account the exposure (logic of the paper) and merit (knowledge and content). The results will be communicated to the students, giving the possibility to the student to reject the vote, and to the secretariat. These results will be recorded as a result of an average of the marks obtained in each course that makes up the course.
Medical history
Course syllabus
Origins and significance of Medicine and History of Medicine. Medieval and Renaissance Medicine. Systematic anatomy, animated anatomy, microscopic anatomy.
Enlightenment and public health. The birth of the clinic and its instruments (semeiotics, diagnostics and therapy). The problems of surgery and their resolution: analgesia, anesthesia, asepsis and antisepsis.
XX century: new concepts, instruments and therapies.
The Specialized Institute for the Complete Treatment of Deafness and the first Italian Centre for Acoustic, Phonetic and Labiological Rehabilitation founded in Milan in the early twentieth century.

- Health and different approaches to health: Biomedical model and Biopsychosocial model
- psychology as a bio-psycho-social science: definition, main theoretical and methodological approaches in psychology. Experimental, developmental, social, clinical and health psychology.
- stress: definition and characteristics. The biopsychosocial model of stress. Chronic and acute stressful situations. Physiological and psychological responses to stress, coping and coping strategies.
- Stress health & illness. Stress and hearing loss (deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus)
- Motivations and emotions. Characteristics of emotions and their components; Primary or basic emotions and secondary or complex emotions; emotion regulation and management.
Emotional intelligence, empathy and their characteristics and development; relationship between cognitive, emotional and relational development.

The bases of Sociology, historical and social excursus, recent sociological perspectives, sociological analysis of health and health organization, working well-being, work-related stress, communication, work group, climate and culture, leadership, motivation, career development, change and conflict.
