Learning objectives
The activity is part of the practical training. It takes place through field trips to dairy cow farms and has the aim of introducing the student at the end of their career to the professional reality of the veterinarian who works in the buiatric field, with specific attention to dairy cow breeding.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will acquire a direct manual approach to the patient which are part of the skills necessary to professionally deal with the management of spontaneous pathology in the specie considered

Teaching methods
In the event of a health emergency involving confinement and impossibility of reaching the farms, the activities will be held on line using the Ms Teams platform.

Course syllabus
Management of lactating cows and monitoring of production and health condition. Drying off programs of cows.
Prerequisites for admission
In order to attend the activity, the student must be enrolled in the 5th year of the course and he must have basic knowledge of subjects of the courses of previous years.
Teaching methods
Practical work carried out on animals of the visited farm. The work will be done by students individually or in groups under the direct guidance of the teacher.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Learning will be assessed during clinical and diagnostic practical activities carried out in the field. Each specific practical competence carried out correctly by the student will be certified by the appropriate logbook by the teacher. The regular frequency of activities and the acquisition of skills will result in an "approved" assessment.
