Learning objectives
The course aims at promoting a culture of 'gender equality' by offering conceptual tools and examples of useful practices on one side to understand the challenges arisen by a full realization of equal opportunities for all, and on the other side to highlight the contribution derived from the introduction of the gender category in the fields of scientific careers and career paths in organizations.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will have the skills to frame and understand equal opportunity policies for all, sociological and legal issues regarding discrimination and equal treatment. They will be able to critically analyze at an international level researches on the subject of conciliation and career paths, both in scientific disciplines and in organizations.

Program:
The course aims at providing a multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of Equal Opportunities and Gender Equality with a particular focus on the labor market and more specifically on organizations and scientific professions. Through the course, the participants will acquire the conceptual tools which will enable them to understand the organizational dynamics in occupations and scientific careers from a gender perspective. The course aims to shed light on the mechanisms and reasons for inequalities in STEMM based on gender, but also ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, etc. The course is mainly addressed to students of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences but it is open also to students of other UMIL's Faculties.
The lessons will begin on February 26 and they will end on May 27, 2020. They will be held on Wednesday from 16.30 to 18.30 in classroom C20. At the end of the course there will be an oral exam.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam includes an oral test on the topics covered during the course and it aims at assessing the acquired knowledge.
