Città Studi Campus Sostenibile
Città Studi Campus Sostenibile (CSCS, Città Studi Sustainable Campus) is a joint project launched by the University of Milan and the Milan Polytechnic in 2011 to turn the Città Studi (the historic university quarter in the city, home to the city's two main university campuses) into a forum on issues of sustainable development, thereby creating a model for the city at large to follow.
Devised as six roundtables on areas of intervention – People, Energy, Education, Mobility, City and Food and Health – the project aims to implement a series of best practices with the goal of improving the quality of life for those living in the university quarter, through projects, events, and programmes.

This project was launched in 2018 as part of the Food and Health roundtable for Città Studi Campus Sostenibile which was geared towards students at the University of Milan and Milan Polytechnic to promote a series of “healthy behaviours” – proper nutrition, developing good exercise habits, and avoiding addictive substances – through which to learn to manage, and to safeguard, their wellbeing.
The “Sustainable Lifestyles” Programme, which was green-lighted by the Ethics Committees at both universities, unfolds as two phases:
- Collecting data on student lifestyles through the LIFE style (Love Initiative Fitness Environment style) questionnaire
- Concrete activities implemented to improve student wellbeing, based on an analysis of the data collected through the questionnaire.
