Economics and Political Science (EPS)
Specifically, the EPS master's programme aims at forming professional economists and political scientists. EPS graduates will not only be endowed with high-level analytical and operational skills, but they will also be characterised by such an open and critical vision of economic, political and social issues, and such a cultural depth that could be hardly achieved by attending a programme centred on a single or a prevailing disciplinary field.
EPS students will be able to reach highly qualified theoretical and applied knowledge and skills in each of the following fields: mathematics, probability and statistics, with applications to economic, political and social sciences; econometrics; microeconomics; macroeconomics; economic policy; public economics; welfare economics and politics; history of economic analysis; comparative politics, theory of European integration; positive and normative political theory; decision theory; game theory; social and political choice theory; theory of justice.
Function in a work context:
Also due to the fully international orientation of the training received, graduates in Economics and Political Science will be able to find qualified jobs in large and medium-sized companies, especially in those operating in high-tech sectors and with a multinational vocation, in all organizational structures that require high and multifaceted analytical skills, in banks, insurance and financial companies, in central and territorial public bodies, in market regulation and control authorities, in consultancy firms to companies, in freelance activities in all sectors of competence. Master graduates of the EPS course they will also have the most suitable training and professional profile to operate at a qualified level in the industry editorial, cultural and media, in economic-financial, political and cultural journalism, in economic organizations national and international, in trend organizations and interest representation, in public and private bodies of forecasting and research, in the study centers of banks and insurance companies, in research and in university teaching. In particular, the theoretical and methodological training of the master's graduates of the course, as well as their openness to debate of the international scientific community, makes them suitable for undertaking possible academic career paths in Italian and foreign universities both in the economic discipline area and in the political science one.

It is expected that the master's graduates of the EPS course will be able to propose themselves on the professional field as experts of high level qualification, with multifaceted and versatile knowledge, able to successfully undertake managerial careers or directives in all sectors of economic activity, in private companies, in public bodies, in governmental institutions orsupranational, but also able to successfully continue their studies, as researchers and scientists. In particular, the strong interdisciplinarity of the study paths, between economics and political science, which takes up the challenge of modern societies complex situations should in any case ensure that all master's graduates have the concrete possibility of finding outletsemployment in the jobs listed below by way of example.

Employment statistics (Almalaurea)
Our partners are selected among the most prestigious academic institutions in France (SciencesPo), Germany (University of Konstanz, University of Heidelberg), Norway (University of Oslo), and other European countries. A bilateral agreement with the Catholic University of Louvain and the Université de Namur (Belgium) allows a limited number of students to obtain a Double-Degree in Sciences Economique and Economics and Political Science issued by the participating institutions.
The modules offered by our partners include core subjects and disciplines of Economics and Political Science such as Industrial Organization, Welfare Economics, European Law, Comparative and International Politics. The choice of modules is made by students before their departure in collaboration with the programme coordinator; the credits are recognized officially and included in the curriculum at the end of the exchange period.
The degree in Economics and Political Science also offers the opportunity to partici pate in internship programmes at institutions such as the OSE - Observatoire Social Européen, and other similar positions at the Social Platform in Brussels.
Internships may also award student credits to be included in their curriculum.
Admission is based on academic excellence. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent; a strong interest and/or previous studies in economics, political science or related subjects; undergraduate or graduate training in mathematics and quantitative methods; a sound knowledge of spoken and written English. The evaluation process will take into consideration the applicants' prior academic record and performance at the interview (see below).
More specifically, applicants who obtained their bachelor's degrees from Italian Universities are eligible for admission if they hold a "laurea" degree belonging to any one of the "classi di laurea" (degree classes) listed below under the heading "Note 1".
Applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in foreign Universities are eligible for admission if they hold a bachelor's degree in economics, political science, or other broadly related subjects (from history to industrial engineering, from management to mathematics, from philosophy to sociology, and so on), provided that their bachelor's degree may be regarded as equivalent to one of the Italian "laurea" degrees listed below. Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:
a) They must have earned at least 60 ECTS credits or equivalent in the following fields: business administration, computer science, economics, law, management, mathematics, philosophy, political science, sociology or statistics. The ECTS credit value of foreign applicants' undergraduate studies will be assessed by the EPS admissions committee. Applicants holding an Italian bachelor's degree must have earned the required credits within the set of admissible "settori scientifico-disciplinari" (disciplinary scientific sectors) listed below under the heading "Note 2". Among these, at least 6 credits should have been earned within the following "settori-scientifico disciplinari" (disciplinary scientific sectors): MAT/01 - Logica matematica; MAT/02 - Algebra; MAT/03 - Geometria; MAT/05 - Analisi matematica; MAT/06 - Probabilità e statistica matematica; MAT/08 - Analisi numerica; MAT/09 - Ricerca operativa; SECS-S/06 - Metodi matematici dell'economia e delle scienze attuariali e finanziarie. Applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in foreign Universities should exhibit a comparable academic record or competence in logics, statistics and mathematics. Candidates will have the possibility to participate to crash-courses of Micro and Macroeconomics, Mathematics and Statistics organized by the Department. The crash-courses are meant to boost the skills in these three fields. In the absence of the above requirements, applicants can also prove that they have adequate quantitative skills through satisfactory results in the GRE or GMAT tests.
b) Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required for admission. The B2-level requirement will be ascertained by the University Language Centre (SLAM) upon admission as follows:
- Language certificate of B2 or higher level issued no more than three years before the date of admission application. You will find the list of language certificates recognized by the University at: https://www.unimi.it/en/node/39322. The certificate must be uploaded when submitting the online application;
- English level achieved during a University of Milan degree programme and certified by the University Language Centre (SLAM) no more than four years before the date of admission application. In this case the process is automatic, the applicant does not have to attach any certificate to the application;
- Placement test administrated by the University Language Centre (SLAM) according to the calendar published on the website: https://www.unimi.it/en/node/39267/
All those who fail to submit a valid certificate or do not meet the required proficiency level will be instructed during the admission procedure to take the placement test.
Applicants who do not take or pass the placement test will be required to obtain a language proficiency certificate recognized by the University (see: https://www.unimi.it/en/node/39322) and deliver it to the SLAM via the InformaStudenti service by the deadline fixed for the master's programme (https://www.unimi.it/en/node/39267/).
Applicants who do not meet the requirement by said deadline will not be admitted to the master's degree programme and may not sit any further tests.
c) GRE or GMAT results, if provided by applicants, will be taken into account.
Applicants meeting the above requirements will be invited to a skype interview.

The tuition fees for students enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's and single-cycle degree programmes are divided into two instalments with different calculation methods and payment schedules:
- The amount of the first instalment is the same for all students
- The amount of the second instalment varies according to the ISEE University value, the degree programme and the student status (on track / off track for one year or off track for more than a year)
- An additional fee is due for online programmes
The University also offers:
- Concessions for students meeting high merit requirements
- Diversified tuition fees according to the student's home country for international students with assets/income abroad
- Concessions for international students with refugee status
