The Module will be devoted to EU private international law (EUPIL) in family and succession matters, an area where the free movement of persons within the EU has created several problems in cross-border cases, that affect the personal life of individuals

Objectives:
- Understanding of the legal framework of judicial cooperation in civil matters concerning family law and succession law;
- Analysis of the CJEU case-law and of the current challenges in EU judicial cooperation in civil matters concerning family law and succession law;
- Evaluation of the results and of the understanding by students and possible attendees of the topics taught in the Module.
