Online guidance tools

Here are some things you can do to help you take the first steps towards making a choice:

  • Know yourself: start with your interests and with what you like doing, and try to understand your strengths and weaknesses, your skills and your professional aspirations by filling in the guidance questionnaire.  

  • Find out about the degree programmes offered by the University: check our educational offering to find out about the University's degree programmes. You will find the degree programmes grouped according to Faculty. The information sheet for each programme tells you whether admission is by means of an entrance examination or an admission test aimed at assessing your prior knowledge. The section entitled ‘The University System’ contains information which will help you understand how the programmes are structured.

  • Check your prior knowledge: if the degree programme you have chosen requires you to sit an entrance examination or an admission aimed at assessing your prior knowledge, access the online test simulations or practise with previous years’ admission tests to make sure you are as ready as possible to take the tests.

  • Take part in orientation activities: these are useful for getting to know more about the degree programmes on offer in each disciplinary area, the teachers and the teaching facilities, and are also an opportunity to take part in university lectures and workshops.

  • Look at the Repertorio delle professioni (in Italian): it presents over 200 professions, all of which can be traced back to the degree courses activated at the University of Milan  

  • If you are unsure or you would like more information on the academic offering, degree programmes, career prospects, student services or anything else, come and visit us at the Information and Advice Help Desk.

  • If you are still unsure about which programme to choose, you can book online an individual guidance session with staff from COSP who are responsible for assisting secondary school students in their transition from school to university.
